Jeff Completed the Honolulu Marathon!

Aloha Everyone,

Jeff is a great walker. He walks an average of 5 - 6 miles during the workday and easily doubles the distance on weekends when he and Jenny walk together. Their routes depend on the weather. He sometimes updates me with a quick text saying that he has completed 20 miles on Sunday's when he goes for a long walk when I am still at 4 miles mark.

There were over 35,000 participants in this year’s 52nd Honolulu Marathon. Jeff told us at the start when professional runners and veterans runners are vying for positions, the running space was tight. All he saw was a mass of humanity.

Fastest runners finished the 26.2 miles in 2 hours and 15 minutes or so. Jeff said he was able to walk 3.3 miles per hour consistently. Considering that he had to park his car, then walk to the starting point and afterwards walk back to Waikiki to pick up his car, it was over 30 miles of walking.

J.J. and I were happy and relieved to receive a call from Jeff.

On our end, we walked to BGC High Street to have lunch at Italianni’s. Executive lunch menu included salad, seafood pasta for J.J., meatball with pasta for me, with calamansi drinks were too much to tackle. We stood up with our plates more than 1/2 leftovers.

Aloha -- Cathi
