Wellington, New Zealand

Aloha Everyone,

Wellington is the capital of New Zealand. Clean, sophisticated and numerous notable places to see. 60 minutes delay caused by the Princess Cruise’s exit process, J.J. and I arrived at the city center of Wellington close to noon.

Cable car ride reasonably priced at NZ$12 per person roundtrip, but it had a long line to purchase ticket and another line to get onto cable cars. This seemed to be one of the most popular tourist attractions. There were still long lines of eager visitors when the two of us passed by the area on our return trip.

Our impressions of Wellington is positive. So much cleaner than Auckland. Streets, public areas are well maintained.  We also did not see any street people. In Auckland, nearly every street were street people who were aggressively calling out for money.

At Whitcoulls, we found a greeting card with two owls. Blank inside will be suitable to add messages for J.J.’s grandniece’s baby shower for her paternal twins.

A wooden building used by Victoria University of Wellington and the Beehive building were our landmarks as to where to catch our shuttle bus

.

Aloha -- Cathi
