Aloha Everyone,
Picton was our final port of call in New Zealand. Glorious sunny weather, charming greetings from the Picton tourism board. The area’s big industry is lumber. They harvest trees and export them to China. The end products like paper are sold back to New Zealand. As our ship approached the Picton pier, there were stacks of lumbers and wood chips. The latter is made into pressed chip boards that are used for construction.
Picton’s serene bay, surrounding lush forest and hillsides reminded us of our favorite stops in Norway. The two of us walked along the main road and ended up at the farmers market.
Wonderful day! We both achieved our daily routine walks. J.J. 3.5 miles and I completed 5.8 miles or 15,390 steps.
Medical emergency delayed Crown Princess’ departure. Our prayers and best wishes to the patient and the families and friends.
