Day 2, Sydney, Baby Shower, Malaysian Dinner in Chinatown

Aloha Everyone,

Learning our way around the neighborhood. Queen Victoria Mall is located just 50 meters from our hotel. Several coffee shops including Starbucks are located here.

One of J.J.’s first cousins, Gadu and his wife, Ding offered us a ride to the baby shower. There must’ve been about 100 guests.

Denise, the young mother-to-be looked happy and radiant wearing a floor length blue gown with heels. Detsy, the grandmother-to-be is ready to step into her new role. I was first introduced to Detsy when she was younger than Denise. It was a wonderful venue to observe Filipino community who have happily blended and settled in Sydney.

Gadu and Ding suggested Malaysian dinner in Chinatown. Malaysian influence in Sydney and elsewhere in Australia is apparently very strong. Not only do they own businesses but blocks of city streets, neighborhoods of Chinatown and the surrounding area where our hotel is situated.

Made a mental note of James Michener’s epic Australia to upload into my iPad.

Aloha -- Cathi
