It seems obvious expansion of resorts & hotels core businesses to tap into cruises. Cruise ships are truly floating hotels with one big attraction: you don’t have to unpack and pack your bags to visit new and exciting destinations.
Aside from daily housekeeping services, multiple restaurants food & beverages, spa, indoor and outdoor pools, exercise rooms, yoga rooms, meditation classes, there are also hair and nail salons, library, stores, travel center and even medical facilities. Cruise ships as in hotels could prepare special events such as birthday, wedding, anniversary and graduation. These could be small, informal & intimate or large gatherings with lavish settings and live entertainments.
What is required is a deep pocket.
It would be interesting to experience The Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts and how they add value for their guests as they join the cruise industry.
