Honningsvag, Norway

Aloha Everyone,

We are in the true land of the midnight sun. From mid-May to July, the sun never dips below the horizon. Honningsvag is located on Nagerøya Island, the northernmost point in Europe that is accessible by road.

The sun came out and we walked to the business district and on our way back took the route via harbor. Once a busy fishing port, today its economy is replaced by tourism.

48.2 degrees Fahrenheit is not the same in the North Cape as it is in the Southern California. Even with my Alpaca cap and mask plus gloves, I felt my body temperature dropping.

A makeshift vendor hawking varieties of sausages was doing brisk business.

Took a few souvenir photos including the dog who was decorated as the Norwegian WWII hero to represent bravery. Trolls are beloved folklore and so are statues for tourists' souvenir photos.

Aloha -- Cathi
