Mitsukoshi Mall in BGC

Aloha Everyone,

Mitsukoshi Mall is promoted as the first Japanese inspired mall in the Philippines. Mitsukoshi was established 351 years ago in 1673 by Mitsui Takayoshi. Parent company, Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings Ltd owns 100%.

A Japanese man walked hurriedly towards me when I was taking photos of the Mitsukoshi Lion bronze sculpture. He asked that I touch its paw so I can get its luck. In turn, he explained that the firm as well as himself will receive reciprocal luck. He added that he is already gain luck because he traveled to the Philippines with the Lion. Sort of confusing thought process. The plaque that explains the statue of lion did not help.

J.J. and I took escalators and walked each floors. The Food Court was most interesting and we purchased hot soba from Nadai Fujisoba.

European photo screen covering ongoing construction across the street helped us figure out the direction we entered. Extremely windy with dust blowing, it was challenging for me to walk especially where tall buildings acted as wind tunnels.

Aloha -- Cathi
