Japan Town & Korea Town are located a few steps from the Holiday Inn Express. They are local tourist attractions but not much more than occupying a square. Walkways to Japan Town are adorned with plastic cherry blossoms as well as the center stage where DJs play music and teenagers gather to dance.
Entry to Korea Town is through a Korean style gate. Compared to Japan Town where there’re 9 operating restaurants, Korea Town has 3 restaurants plus a Korean Coffee shop and a photogenic Korean architecture.
What caught my eye was a family all dressed in traditional Korean costumes strolling around. The mother and her three daughters walked around with her husband taking photos. About 2 hours later, I saw them walking into a store. It was a Korean costume rental company with a store opening promo price of 150 peso per two hours rental.
I am happy that the family will have a lasting memory of Christmas 2023.
