Aloha Everyone,
We left San Diego at 12:00 pm trying to stay ahead of Hurricane Hilary. The expected landfall in California will be as a major storm that would impact the state. Our eyes are glued to NOAA’s (National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration) broadcasting programs.San Diego county and Los Angeles county have announced their preparedness including cleaning storm drains, clearing streets and having additional rescue teams in place.
Baseball games and soccer matches have voluntarily been rescheduled. By the time we were on I-5, freeway warning signs of coming severe weather conditions were flashing. Jeff, who suggested that we leave one day early, was correct. Heavier traffic than usual. J.J. was able to complete all his to do list including putting Diesel 2 in Honu’s tank.
We checked for one night at Extended Stay America and tomorrow we will move to Miyako Hybrid where we initially made our reservations.
No rain, no wind but the air smells of rain. This is a calm before the storm time.
Aloha -- Cathi
