Aloha Everyone,
Taxi ride from the port to the old city was 250 Turkish lira. Approximately $1=14 lira.Our accommodation, Deluxe Golden Horn Sultanahmet Hotel is located within the historic district.
Several treasures of Istanbul including the famous Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar, Topkapi Palace Museum, Hagia Sofia and more are all within 10 -20 minutes easy walk from our hotel.
Room on 3rd level looking a small park will be our home for the duration of our stay. Ornate decoration makes us feel like we are sleeping in the Sultan’s palace. It’s been cold with average temperatures ranging from 40 - 65 Fahrenheit. Add windchill factor and we have to put on our heavy jacket when going out for dinner.
Our buffet-style breakfast is served on the rooftop restaurant overlooking an amazing panoramic vista.
