Walked the Circumference of the Acropolis

Aloha Everyone,

There are several paths one can take. The two of us walked around the Acropolis hill to Plaka which is mostly flat and slightly downhill. We then walked uphill to the area where restaurants have a decent view of Acropolis across a railroad track.

Rain was expected after 4pm, but it came early. The restaurant served excellent food and they had a cheerful serving staff. It was a stark contrast to today’s weather.

Wet and chilly days in Greece for this time of the year is blamed on destructive wildfires and climate change. A couple from Belgium with whom we exchanged pleasantries said that it is sunny and 85 degrees Fahrenheit back home. They came for sunny beach weather to swim but instead they were bundled up and waiting for the rain to stop.

Walking the circumference of the Acropolis hill took us a total of two hours. Lunch break added another hour.

Aloha -- Cathi
