St. Lucia

Aloha Everyone,

Picturesque twin peaks of the Pitons is one of the main attractions of St. Lucia. This is the first of two Caribbean island where visitors are isolated from the resident population. Some refer this situation as “bubble tourism” isolating visitors from the locals to protect against the spread of COVID.

Our decision not to join an organized tour to view the Pitons was based on the 4 to 5 hours requirement. We found a cafe on the 2nd floor of the terminal building with free WiFi. J.J. and I were able to check news and send text messages to our family and friends.

As we were returning to our ship, a couple walked along with us. They weren’t pleased with the transportation utilized for their tour. They complained of no air conditioning, no seat cushion, the heat, rain and other smells.

Tonight, J.J. and I dined at Amalfi. The Italian theme dinner started with minestrone soup and vegetables lasagna.  Decadent combination of three Italian desserts was delightful, but I stopped after a few bites of each.

About an hour after leaving the port, we saw the ghostly vision of the Pitons in the distance.

Aloha -- Cathi
