Bridgetown, Barbados

Aloha Everyone,

The name Barbados comes from a brief occupation by Portuguese who called the place Isladel Barbados “the Bearded Island”.

With only 40,000 resident population, Barbados has a strong British tradition. After the “turn-over” ceremony of 2021, it is now a fully independent nation. However, the island nation still remains a part of the British Commonwealth. A number of local government restrictions stopped the two of us and many fellow passengers from going on shore.
