Aloha Everyone,
The word made up of two Japanese words, Iki or Ikiru means life, to live. The second word Kai (or when proceeded by another word changes to Gai) means worth or benefit. This concept is not uniquely Japanese. The French word, raison d’etre means Life Worth Living.After reading the book, I am now very curious to visit Okinawa where there are many Centenarians. These islanders are happy, active and living full productive lives in a community that looks after one another.
