Aloha Everyone,
Dr. Espinosa came to check on J.J. this morning. He removed the 2nd drain tube and said when he returns to see J.J. on Tuesday, the staples that are holding his surgical wound may also be removed. J.J. is looking forward to the next stage of healing, but until the pathological report is in and all experts are consulted, we are not yet out of the woods.
I must share a funny American English and international English usage. Dr. Espinosa asked me to take photographs of JJ’s post surgery scars. I obliged and asked if he would like me to shoot from different angles. I guess the word, “shoot” was inappropriate. He looked confused and asked, “Shoot?"
There is no one out on the street. It is so quiet that you don’t even hear a dog barking. The silence is unreal. Last night, Jeff and I decided to get some desserts. We noticed tense energy of people trying to beat the 8:00 pm curfew. The pastry shop which actually is part of our hotel was doing brisk business. By the time it was our turn, most of the breads and sweets were gone.
Aloha -- Cathi
