Aloha Everyone
The tree trimmers were hard at work when Jeff & I went out on a brisk walk around the Alameda Park. Using only a sickle mounted on a long stick, they expertly and systematically moved from a tree to tree trimming branches.
Our hotel seems to be getting a steady steam of packaged tourists from the United Stares. They arrive late at night, wake up early to have their breakfast and are being bussed to visit several major tourist spots in Quito over 2 days. Then the group is off to Galápagos and/or to the Amazon jungle. It is affordable, fast paced, see as much as possible type of tour. It’s interesting to overhear their breakfast conversation such as, “Let’s take along some of these bread items so we don’t have to spend money for lunches.” Ah the joy in my ability to understand another language aside from Spanish :-)
Now that J.J. is on the mend, it’s time for me to focus on my health, especially my daily food intake and sleep. Starting with my biggest meal of the day, I have to be mindful of what I put on my plate and whether or not I will consume everything.
Aloha -- Cathi
