Aloha Everyone,
One of the most popular tours in Porto is the 6 Bridges Cruise on the Rio Douro.
J.J. and I decided to take the boat that was about to depart. Its passengers turned out to be a German tour group who were given their own translation earphones. For us, the recorded explanation was in Spanish.
Among the 6 bridges currently spanning across the river, the most significant and noteworthy is the one credited to Gustav Eiffel, an engineer whose name graces the famous Eiffel Tower in Paris.
It was an interesting tour, a lesson in humanity. The two of us observed every other passengers trying to take their selfies as our boat passed under each bridge.
Considering that we were able to enjoy three distinctive and different activities, we are satisfied with our city tour package.
September marks the change in tourism. Summer visitors who come in for 1/2 day in and out rushing about the city to see everything will be replaced by more relaxed, slower paced travelers.
It’s getting cooler here. Tomorrow’s forecast is 58/68.
We are watching news about Hong Kong, the ongoing fires in the Amazon area in Brazil, and Typhoon Dorian approaching Florida. Compared to what’s going around the world, this place seems isolated and peaceful.
