The sales people of Capital Bus were pleasant, enthusiastic and spoke passable English. They are supposed to be affiliated with Hop On/Hop Off. Belatedly after we paid $320 Mexican dollars (US$17.78) for the 2 of us, we realized that this was the lesser of two bus tour companies.
We watched the other bus company dropping and picking passengers every 10 minutes. 40 minutes later, J.J. and I boarded a bus along with 8 or so passengers. The language translations on the bus was malfunctioning.
On the bright side, we were forced to be extremely attentive to comprehend fragments of information regarding the history and culture of Mexico City in Spanish.
Our 2 hours bus ride took us from Centró Histórico through the capital’s business center to Polanco, a district featuring ultra high end stores. The ride gave us an overview of the city and impetus to do research on many of the attractions we viewed from the upper level of the bus.
Mexico City with approximately 10 million population is bigger than New York City. J.J. and I have a great deal to learn and explore. Please enjoy the highlights of our bus tour.
