Aloha Everyone,
The two of us were fortified by the wonderful home-cooked breakfast by Vita and Len. Being on the road as much as we are, a breakfast with our temporary family is such a special treat.
Vida drove me over to the Erie Canal's Lock 7 Park in Niskayuna, about 10 minutes drive from her house to look at the dam. http://alloveralbany.com/ archive/2011/04/19/erie- canals-lock-7
Before we leave New York State, I would like to thank Connie at the Newburgh Town Information Center who graciously agreed to pose for me with our Flat traveling companions and for patiently helped me with the pronunciation of "Schenectady".
From Albany, Honu took I-90 East and entered Massachusetts then onto Connecticut passing by downtown Hartford.
For the next 3 nights, Honu's home is Wolf's Den Family Campground in East Haddam. This is a children and dog friendly place. Being the Memorial Day Weekend, the campground is packed. J.J. actually called to make last minutes reservations. We feel very fortunate to be able to get a space. Most nearby campgrounds are full.
It is heavily wooded part of property and Honu had to climb up a rather steep and narrow road. J.J. skillfully backed in Honu. As you can see if he goes a few feet to one side, I was afraid we might slide off the ravine.
Aloha -- Cathi
