Valley of Fire State Park - Revisited

Aloha Everyone,

Valley of Fire State Park is located  55 miles northeast of Las Vegas and 6 miles from Lake Mead. It was about a two hours detour off Interstate 15.

This is our second visit. J.J. wanted to take some photos of him wearing his high school reunion souvenir shirt. The green and white color stood out against the red sandstone formations created by shifting sand dunes about 150 million years ago.

It is a great place for hiking and wildlife watching. We made 5 stops, but due to time constraint, did not have a chance to explore. The scenery is beautiful and well worth the $10 entrance fee.

Drove through Overton, NV, where the town seem to celebrate the holiday season the year around.

For the next few days we will be in Kanarraville.

Aloha -- Cathi
