Southern Hospitality

Aloha Everyone,

The South, the place where...

1) tea is sweet and accents are sweeter.
2) Summer starts in April.
3) Macaroni and cheese is a vegetable.
4) Front porches are wide and words are long.
5) Pecan pie is a staple.
6) Y'al is a proper noun.
7) Chicken is fried and biscuits comes with gravy.
8) Everything is darlin'.
9) Someone's heart is always blessed.

A wooden board with aforementioned message hangs in Lee and Dee's kitchen counter.

Later Dee and Shelley explained to us that "Bless your Hearts" and "God Love Ya!!!" do not always mean their literal translations. Based on delivery, words could mean quite the opposite!

Prior to leaving Georgia, I would like to include a portfolio of Baron, Lee and Dee's active and inquisitive Schnauzer.

Riley belongs to Shelley and Marc's daughter Abbey. Riley is diabetic and has gastrointestinal issues among other things. He is a sweet dog and loves to lick Shelley whenever and wherever he can reach -- her arms, fingers, legs...

Giselle, their cat on the other hand is a peculiar animal. She prefers to drink running water thus she hops on the kitchen counter, Shelley turns on the faucet, then Giselle sticks out her tongue and tries to "drink."

Tonight Honu's accommodation is Southern Gates RV Park & Campground in Arabi, GA.  Arabi, located near the northern Florida state border. is a quaint little town with a population of less than 700. Campground owner sprayed for fire ants so we do not get bitten also warned us of mosquitoes. We plan to take our showers before the sun sets.

Aloha -- Cathi
