Learning From My Granddaughter

Aloha Everyone,

Our granddaughter has been studying Tang Soo Do since she was in preschool. This Korean martial art has the following tenants which are excellent to incorporate in our daily living:

Integrity
Concentration
Perseverance
Respect or obedience
Self-control
Humility
Indomitable spirit

I asked her to teach me beginning steps of Tang Soo Do. In a matter of 10 minutes after punching and kicking my imaginary opponent, I was perspiring. My granddaughter is an excellent teacher and she would have me repeat my steps until I get them correctly.

From the 32 still photos I took of her demonstrating, I will practice so by my next visit to La Jolla, I can progress to the next set.

Solving Rubric cube as speedily as possible is another activity our granddaughter is engaged in.

She also showed me her skill in incorporating animation to her computer class project.

Sunday is her only full day for leisure activities. Checking off her list of things to do, we engaged in serious pillow fights, did drawing, singing, and dancing. Then it was time for her rollerblading. J.J. and I got our walking exercise while we enjoyed her company.

Aloha -- Cathi
