Honu's Misadventure

Aloha Everyone,

The first time we heard the odd noise coming somewhere from the undercarriage of Honu was last Friday. The start of a three-days weekend, our decision was to address the issue on Monday if the noise is still there.

The noise came back shortly after we exited the Falcon State Park. J.J. also noticed warning messages on Honu's computer.  The two of us modified our schedule and headed to nearest Midas Shop in Corpus Christi. On 75mph speed limit highway, J.J. could only get Honu to run 40 mph  -- a Mercedes Benz safety feature.  After a tense and anxious 4 hours on the road, J.J. safely drove Honu into the Midas repair shop.

Based on consultation with co-managers, Steve and Marco, we are taking care of two immediate conditions:

1) the noise was caused by some fibrous debris getting tangled in Honu's undercarriage impacting and damaging its wiring systems.

2) replacement of all brake pads and rotors.

We are staying at an RV Park in Corpus Christi until Honu's repair is completed.

Aloha -- Cathi
