Falcon State Park

Aloha Everyone,

J.J. and I are exploring the South Texas Plains region. The driving distance from Choke Canyon State Park to Falcon State Park was a little over 150 miles. Once we were on the Texas Route 16, J.J. relinquished the driving to me. With the cruise control set at 68 mph, I chanted my favorite yoga mantras.

Female chachalaca, native to this area as well as Mexico, Central and South America are relatively easy to spot because of its large size and unique coloration. I saw two fly in front of Honu.  https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chachalaca

We were able to secure a great site at Falcon. The two of us went on a very blustery windy walk to the Butterfly Garden. Tomorrow when the sun is out, I will go back to observe more butterflies.

Aloha -- Cathi
