Debris Danger

Aloha Everyone,

Rainy morning while waiting for a call from Midas repair shop. I cleaned my "library" box where I keep books, maps and brochures.

Jared Peterson is president and CEO of AAA South Dakota. In his recent HOME & AWAY president's message, he wrote about road debris. Citing AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, Peterson wrote, "More than 200,000 crashes were caused by debris on US roadways from 2011 to 2014, resulting in about 39,000 injuries and more than 500 deaths."

Our on board computer issued five warning messages. A burlap bag got entangled in Honu's undercarriage, impacting and damaging its wiring system.

Honu's repair had to be deferred for another day as Midas had no 220 watts electrical power today to hoist the vehicle.

Aloha -- Cathi
