Scenic Drive in the Rocky Mountain National Park

Aloha Everyone,

Rocky Mountain National Park is everything we have heard and read about and MORE! This is one of the most visited national parks in the United States. This morning we took a leisurely drive from Estes Park to Grand Lake.  Majestic peaks with patches of frozen ice are in every direction. J.J. and I disregarded the traffic and rude drivers to concentrate on soaking in the beauty of the mountains.

According to the information provided by the National Park Service, US Department of the Interior, there are more than 100 peaks rising above 11,090 feet in altitude all within the boundary of RMNP.

Today was just an introduction. J.J. made several stops for me so that I can enjoy short hikes and appreciate the amazing vistas.

There are 5 RV camping sites within the park but since we were looking for electrical and water hookups, we chose Stillwater campground  located in Arapaho National Forest. With our Senior Pass discount, our fee is $11 plus $6 for electricity a day. For our 4 days stay, we paid $68. This is the price charged by commercial campgrounds for one night stay during the summer high season. We even have hot showers!!!  Nice!

Please enjoy my photo journal of our drive.  The last two photos are taken at our camping site.
