Aloha Everyone,
This morning J.J. and I left my Mother's home and drove to Las Vegas. This is one of our familiar routes and we usually allocate a maximum of 5 hours. However, today it took us a total of 9 hours.
The cause of the delay was two major traffic accidents on Interstate 15 North. For nearly 5 hours, we were in stop-and-go traffic in 104 degree desert heat. Relief occurred suddenly in the form of thunder, lightening and heavy downpour. Within a short period of time, temperature dropped by nearly 20 degrees to 76 degrees.
All is well. My Mother with my sister and brother arrived two hours early. J.J. and I were grateful for our safe arrival and the brilliant desert sunset from our 20th room at Stratosphere.
