Aloha Everyone,
J.J. and I decided on a Danube River cruise as our first sightseeing activity. It took us about 15 minutes of leisurely walk to reach the riverbank to the famous Chain Bridge and another 20 minutes near Elizabeth Bridge where our cruise boat was docked.
A perfect day to be on the water. The one hour trip on the Danube River offered us amazing panoramic views of the historical city including the outstanding Gothic Revival façade of the Hungarian Parliament building complex.
This being our very first visit to Budapest, the numerous churches, castles and impressive architectural buildings were overwhelming and somewhat too much to take in.
So here is a small selection on what we saw during our round trip cruise to Margaret Island. In coming days, we plan to visit different parts of Buda and Pest and become familiar with the layout of the city, as well as its history from ancient to present.
