Aloha Everyone,
My Mother's energy and zest for life continue to amaze us. This morning she accepted the invitation to go to Knott's Berry Farm. She joined my niece and her four great-grandsons aged 7 to 13 at the amusement park. J.J. and I stayed behind and prepared a Mother's Day lunch.
We had roast lamb, salmon alfredo with side dishes of cucumber and apple salad, cheese plate with crackers, avocado and Kalamata olives, and boiled tofu. My Mother had prepared nishime (simmered vegetables including pumpkin, radish, shiitake mushroom, fish cake and konnyaku).
Music was provided by the second to the eldest great-grandson who played Bach's Minuet on piano.
I felt privilege to observe my Mother's joyful expression as she watched the boys play in the backyard.
A gorgeous gift of bouquet from our son's family in La Jolla wrapped up this beautiful Mother's Day!
