This is the Life!!! Incredible Driving Experience On Scenic Byway 12

Aloha Everyone,

Today J.J. drove over 200 miles of mountainous roads. Our journey began with Dixie National Forest on Highway 14 where there was lots of snow and very few cars on the road.

Scenic Byway 12 from Red Canyon to Torrey, the entrance to Capitol Reef National Park, took us approximately 4 hours.

The total distance is 124 miles with amazing and inspirational five cliff formations of vermillion, pink, white, gray and chocolate.

Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument is 1.9 million acres managed by the Bureau of Land Management. Surrounded by national parks, national forests, state parks, wilderness areas and additional BLM lands, when combined, this region make up one of the largest public managed land masses in the lower 48 states.

We are staying at Wonderland RV Park. One of the owners Tracy, checked us in. He is local born and raised. Tracy told that his ancestor was one of the original settlers growing fruits in this part of Utah.

For dinner, we are having Teriyaki Salmon on a bed of kale.

Aloha -- Cathi
