Aloha Everyone,
Prior to returning to California, I inadvertently strained my left leg. Since I could not trace the cause, I also was at a loss as to what would be the best exercises to do to rehabilitate it. Interestingly, my leg would feel sore and stiff in the morning as I get out of the bed as well as whenever I stand up after sitting for a prolonged period.
This morning while waiting for our granddaughter's flute recital to commence, my son suggested that we walk around the neighborhood of Carlsbad.
From the Museum of Making Music, our walking path took us down the hill to the parking lot of Legoland, the Carlsbad flower field and back.
It was a perfect walking weather at 54 degrees. Our pace was brisk. Trying to keep up with my son's long stride, I walked deliberately putting my legs squarely on the ground being careful to prevent my left leg from suddenly buckling under me.
The 40 minutes of morning walk in the Carlsbad neighborhood and another 20 minutes walk this evening seemed to have helped. After I did 20 minutes of yoga asanas, my soreness is gone. Hopefully, I am "cured" and able to kick my legs up again.
Aloha -- Cathi
