Aloha Everyone,
I would like to share with you additional information on wisteria.
1). Wisteria usually grows in vines and can last 100 years or more. Over 40 years ago, one of my mother's bonsai club members gave her a cutting which has since flourished to embrace the entrance of her house with subtle color and gentle fragrance which last until a strong wind or rain scatter the soft petals.
2). Wisteria is native to the Eastern United States and to Japan, China and Korea.
3). Wisteria is associated with love, grace, honor, patience and longevity.
4). In Shin Buddhism, wisteria symbolizes humility, prayer and reflection.
5). In Europe, wisteria vine is said to be associated with immortality because families mark the ages of generations with the growth of the vine.
Please enjoy photos and stories of incredibly beautiful magnificent 144 years old wisteria vine in Ashikaga Flower Park in Japan.
