Montego Bay, Jamaica

Aloha Everyone,

Jamaica Is the 5th largest Island country in the Caribbean. Following the arrival of Christopher Columbus in 1494, the island remained under Spanish rule.

In 1655 England conquered the island and renamed it Jamaica. The island nation declared independence in 1962.  The official language of Jamaica is called Patois which consists of English, French, Spanish and Dutch.

Being our first visit, J.J. and I signed up for the shore excursion of Top 10 Best Of Montego Bay.

Chaotic, disorganized and unprofessional are some of the less harsh words to describe our experience. The bus which 50 or so of us were crammed was old and seat belts were non-existent. We drove through a congested road where often there were but an inch between our bus and other vehicles.

Nicole was an affable, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable tour guide and she did her best to keep us happy and engaged.

We heard others speak of their amazing experiences in other parts of Jamaica. J.J. and I would give another try if and when the opportunity presents itself.

Aloha -- Cathi
