Waimanalo Beach, Keoki & Alethea

Aloha Everyone,

A gray and overcast morning but that did not deter our plan of taking a short drive to Waimanalo.  A section of the Kamehameha Highway between Hanauma Bay and Makapuu Point resembles California Highway 1 in Big Sur. However, lush green vegetation and proximity to beach accesses gives the island distinction and amazing beauty to this place.

At our Sandy Beach photo stop, I ran on the sand with my Flat Stanley (granddaughter) to snap a shot by a rescue surfboard. When the lifeguard realized that I was not there to borrow his board to surf away, he gave me a thumb's up.

Keoki and Alethea are a very busy couple. Keoki is managing a company. Alethea is the Musical Director at Unity Church of Hawaii and a full time instructor at Mid-Pacific Institute, a private coeducational college predatory school.

As with all of our special friends in Hawaii, we think of Keoki and Alethea as our "Ohana" (extended family) and very grateful for their making time to spend the time with us.

Aloha -- Cathi
