Driving back to La Jolla, J.J. and I got off at Oceanside and took Highway 101 coastal road until Encinitas. Thick fog-like marine layers shrouded the coast like a wet blanket.
We found Especial Norte, a popular local restaurant serving authentic Mexican cuisine. I got filled with their complimentary tortilla chips with a very spicy salsa that I really not mind the black bean soup which was not to my taste.
I try to adhere to my friend Pat's mantra. Wherever you are, give 100% attention and enjoy the person's company. We will miss my Mother, but very happy to be able to spend the next 3 nights with our son's family and relish my time with our granddaughter.
