Sending Christmas Cards

Aloha Everyone,

It's always been my job to write and send out our family Christmas cards when my siblings and I were young. Even after the 3 of us were married, when we were at my Mother's home to celebrate Christmas, the task of writing cards fell in my lap.

The big difference then is that I personally knew the people I was writing to and I was encouraged to add my own salutations and personal notes. Today, belonging to over 10 different private and civic organizations, my Mother's contact base is vast and varied. I know perhaps a quarter of these individuals by name and face. Therefore my involvement is limited to addressing cards.

Watching me sending my Christmas emails and text messages, my Mother asked if the recipients appreciate them just as much as if they had received a physical letter or card in the mail. While I cannot answer for others, I am delighted and prefer to receive electronic greetings. As J.J. and I simplify our life with non-attachment, we welcome the electronic forms of keeping in touch with our family and friends.

Please allow me to formally "Thank You" for your Christmas greetings and your annual Christmas letters!!!  They mean a great deal to us.

Aloha -- Cathi
