Aloha Everyone
My Mother has been waiting for our return to harvest and process the last of the Jerusalem Artichoke (Kiku imo) from her yard. Compared to last year, this year's harvest is very small. By the time we washed, cleaned and dried using a fruit dehydrator, we had but a medium-sized mixing bowlful of the product. Using the coffee grinder, J.J. turn it into powder form. My Mother feels that this product is one of the reasons for her healthy, head full of shiny hair. We are in agreement and gratefully accepted the product for our use.
Our next task was to do shopping for Tamago-yaki, a specially made stainless steel pan for making the Japanese-style omelet. Just to make sure that it is what she is looking for, J.J. held up the 2 pans and I photographed and texted it to the would-be recipient of our humble gift.
By the time we stopped at Ralph's Supermarket, the high wind warning was in effect and remnants of the fall colors were dancing in the wind.
