Additional Photos From Our Friends

Aloha Everyone

This will be our 3rd and last installments of Christmas photos from our friends. The first two are from Jane and Jeff in Prescott, AZ. I am taking the liberty of reproducing a segment of message from Jane as she describes the photos and you can visualize the special celebration in her beautiful town.

"Here are a couple of pictures of the Prescott Courthouse Square. Each year they light up all the trees for Christmas and they have a program in early December on the courthouse steps. The high school choir does a performance, then the Christmas story is read from the Bible. interspersed with Christmas carols sung by everyone on the square. This year it was estimated over 8000 people attended the lighting ceremony. At the end of the reading of the Christmas story all the lights come on. It is very fun to go and very pretty to see."

Next is from our Professora Sandra who taught us Spanish in Cuenca, Ecuador.

And finally from Pat with her garden goose wearing a winter coat.

J.J. and I truly count our blessings as we received so many beautiful photos from friends. Our sincere apologies if your photo was not included due to technical reasons -- some photos we received were a part of a montage or collage and were unable to isolate the specific photo we wanted to include.

Walking With My Sister

Aloha Everyone,

At 6:30 am, I received a text from my sister asking me to join her on her morning walk. I immediately sent her an affirmative response. She came to pick me up and we went to Wilson Park.

She explained to me that she has her favorite route and said we could do about an hour or 3 miles. The morning air was cool and crisp with the temperature:of low 50. We walked briskly only to pause a couple of time to admire dogs. First was a very large Great Pyrenees aptly named Kumo, means Cloud in Japanese. The owner mentioned that she acquired her dog when it was just two weeks old and weigh only 10 pounds. Today one year later, Kumo weighs 110 pounds and towers over her owner.

Second was Lulu.  A well-trained and obedient dog, according to her owner Jim. However she was indifferent and disinterested to show off any of her special talents.

My sister and I had a great work-out including doing some yoga asanas.

To combat the unusually chilly Southern California days, J.J. purchased 3 bundles of "Arizona" firewood for my Mother's fireplace.

Charles Wilson Community Park

Aloha Everyone,

Charles Wilson Community Park is located at 2200 Crenshaw Blvd in the city of Torrance. The land area of the park is approximately 44.1 acres.

Notable amenities include handicapped access, BBQ area, softball diamond, basketball, sand volleyball, horseshoe, tennis, paddle tennis courts. There is also a large indoor sports center, tree house that is ADA accessible and outdoor amphitheater.

Additionally, live steam train rides are available on specific days.

My favorite is the shaded trail which is well kept and user-friendly for people of all ages.

Hanging Out With My Sister & Old Town Music Hall

Aloha Everyone,

My sister and brother live within 15 minutes drive to our Mother's house. They stop by often with no prior notice to visit.

Today she and I agreed to spend sometime together alone. By the time J.J. and I had our Japanese lunch and came home, she was already waiting for me just 2 minutes pass our agreed time. Yes, my sister is very punctual. She is responsible for taking her 4 grandsons to school, music lessons, taekwondo and other activities.

Established In 1968, Old Town Music Hall is located in El Segundo, CA. It is a venue for showing vintage silent and sound films as well as presentation of live concerts.

My sister has attended a couple of presentations in the past and was terribly disappointed when she found out it was closed. I was not at.all affected by the fact that there was no show for us to attend. Rather, I told her that I appreciated her generosity of inviting me and enjoyed the time I spent with her driving around downtown El Segundo as she talked about her grandsons.
