Pennsylvania, Maryland, and West Virginia

Aloha Everyone,

We were on the road over 5 hours. Another perfect weather and the excellent roads allowed Honu to travel at a high speed.

McKnightstown is a small village just outside of Gettsburg, PA.  During the Civil War, General Robert E. Lee and the Army of Northern Virginia marched through on their way to Gettysburg.

At the home grown fruits stand, I asked Richard to select for me apples. Among the 3 kinds of apples, my favorite is Ambrosia. Crunchy and sweet yet little tart, Ambrosia originated in British Columbia.

We stopped at Ciao Bella, a small roadside restaurant in Fayetteville. We were happy with the quality of food.

District 5 Hancock information Center in Maryland is situated on a rise which looks down a beautiful valley. This is the first day at work for Newt at the visitor center. Helpful and kind, I walked out with an armful of maps and brochures. I wish him a success.

J.J. and I have a list of places we would like to visit in Maryland including Rock State Park, Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historic Area, Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge. Reluctantly, we are setting them aside for our next visit.

From Hancock, we took I-68W driving by interesting cities and bucolic scenery.

We found our RV camping accommodation east of Morgantown adjacent to the site where the University of West Virginia Natural Resources Center is located. Honu is in a beautiful forested area.

Aloha -- Cathi
