Aloha Everyone,
We bid reluctant adieu to John and Pat, but not before we fortified ourselves with Pat's fabulous breakfast. She made us delicious omelets.
I was curious about the goose figurine at their front entrance and on the back porch. Pat explained that they are typical garden decorations in the Mid-West. She changes their outfits seasonally, including one with a Hawaiian theme.
J.J. and I drove by downtown Chicago and stayed on the SkyWay (toll road) cutting through the north-western corner of Indiana via Gary into Michigan.
I found out that Pat is so much like my Mother. She packed enough food for us to have 3 meals in Honu. At the Rest Stop at the New Buffalo Welcome Center in Michigan, we enjoyed a picnic lunch of stuffed green pepper, white & golden corn, salad with green apple and plum plus her banana bread for dessert.
Coloma St.Joseph KOA campground is located near Lake Michigan in Riverside. After Labor Day, many RV parks are off season. The pool is closed. We have yet to seen any children on the jumping pillow. Woody and forest-like location with large pad allocated for our site, it's like staying in a national park.
Aloha -- Cathi
