Gardens of the Gods

Aloha Everyone,

Garden of the Gods is a public park located in Colorado Springs. What is interesting about this park is its geologic features. Some of the ancient sedimentary beds of rocks that were originally in horizontal layers have been lifted vertically when tremendous forces uplifted the Rocky Mountains and Pikes Peak. The park's location is inconspicuous. One has to drive through residential areas to get to the site. There were many visitors of various ages hiking, walking, biking and even horseback riding.

The best time to visit in the summer is late afternoons when the sun is shining on the faces of rocky formations. Thank you, YP for your suggestion. It was worth a detour.

On I-25 North, bypassed Denver and Fort Collin, then to Cheyenne, Wyoming to spend the night at KOA Camping. It was still 3:00 pm local time but the sky was dark forecasting deteriorating weather over night. About this time, my iPhone died.
