Hello Oklahoma, Friendly People, Endless Green Farmlands & First Night's Stay Free

Aloha Everyone,

Woke up to the sound of rain drops mingled with birds singing. Great outdoors is one of the things J.J. and I love about staying in state parks.

A larger than life white statue of Samuel "Sam" Houston on I-35 caught our eyes. He is best remembered for his role in bringing Texas into the United Stares.

I-35 cuts right through downtown Dallas. There were many construction cranes with new buildings going up. J.J. and I sensed the prosperity of the state of Texas.

The Gobi Mongolian Grill in Denton, TX was our lunch stop. It was our first Asian food in 6 weeks. The taste was more Tex-Mex than Mongolian.

Crossed Red River into Oklahoma. Another new state with Honu.

Terry (left) and Karen made me feel like one special guest to the state. When I told them that this was our very first visit, they provided me with maps including the Red River to Oklahoma City, state park guides and various points of interest guide books. Among them, I find that a copy of "A Look At Oklahoma, Student Guide" very resourceful and interesting. I will be sharing some data from it in my next blog.

Windstar World  Casino and Resort RV Park is located in the Chickasaw Nation. We were given their promotional price of 1st Night Free stay. First class amenities and services, JJ and I took showers, did our laundry then drove just 200 yards to the Windstar Casino complex to get our walking exercises and have dinner.

J.J. had beef tamales with chili con carne.

My soft taco with rice and beans

We shared a flan for dessert

Aloha -- Cathi
