Back to Flagstaff, AZ

Aloha Everyone,

Today is a very busy day for our family. While J.J. and I continue our leisurely driving on I-40 to Flagstaff, AZ, my Mother is leaving on her trip to Japan and our niece is getting her Ed.D. (Doctorate Degree in Education).

Arizona has now become a very familiar state for us. Impressive  towering red rock formations in Lupton welcomed us back to the state.

Holbrook is a small city in Navajo County with an estimated population of 4,996 in 2013. We made a fuel stop here.

As we approached Flagstaff, we began to see the San Francisco Peaks. Humphrey's Peak is the highest point in the state of Arizona. It soars to 12,633 feet in elevation. The San Francisco Peaks are remains of an eroded volcano.

Much of Flagstaff's water is supplied by an aquifer, an underground layer of water-bearing permeable rock or unconsolidated materials within the caldera of the San Francisco Peaks.

The day-time temperature dropped to 62 degrees Fahrenheit and with wind-chill factor, I had to wear my Alpaca cap and heavy hooded jacket to go outside.

In search for hot soup, we stopped at Autumn Moon, Mandarin Cuisine recommended by a cashier at Fry's
Supermarket.

We had hot and sour soup, sautéed shrimp and vegetables with rice noodle and a side of fried rice for J.J. We probably have to wait for good Chinese, Japanese or other Asian foods after we return to California.

It's sunny but cold outside. We took an early shower and we will be dining in. I have a list of yoga and meditation blogs I would like to work on.

Fresh mango for dinner.

Aloha -- Cathi
