Aloha Everyone,
Our second day of our cruise started with a nice relaxing breakfast.
Don and Alma are from San Antonio, Texas. They are both retired public school teachers. Don taught biology and communication, and coached girls basketball. Alma taught high school math. When they talked about their students, they became excited and very enthusiastic. Both enjoy cruising and this is their 42nd trip.
It was fortuitous that the host of the restaurant brought the 4 of us together. We had so many things to share that we stayed until the restaurant staff began preparing the tables for dinner.
Here is Alma's selection, JJ's choice, and my meal starting with tomato soup.
Dave Drummond lectures on a number of topics related to cruising as a guest of Carnival. Today's lecture was on The History of Cruise Ship in the morning and Story of Unique Ships in the afternoon. Don and his wife been on over 65 cruises including the Queen Mary and a super high-end cruise which cost $1,000 per day per person.
Our dinner table is assigned for the duration of our trip. We learned that Jack is a CPA whose business focused ion architects. Meal time entertainment was provided by the dining room staff.
Here is Jack getting into the spirit of things by waiving his napkin. To think that just yesterday, I thought that Jack was a very reticent and quiet individual.
J.J. and my menu selection.
JJ and I joined Jack and other passengers to watch the evening live entertainment themed "Around the World". Sorry no video or iPhone photos were permitted. However, here are some additional photographs of the ship for your viewing pleasure.
We close our first full day on sea with a selfie.
Aloha -- Cathi
