Shaun the Sheep

Aloha Everyone,

Our first introduction to a popular British animated television series, Shaun the Sheep was more than three years ago when J.J. and I joined our son's family in England for two weeks. We fondly recall that our granddaughter eagerly waited for its show time every evening.

Each episode of Shaun the Sheep is 7 minutes long  and features madcap adventures of Shaun, an extremely clever leader of his flock. The stories takes place on a small farm. In each episode, Shaun gets everyone into and out of misadventure including the farmer and his dog. Stories are told with sounds and gestures, no spoken words, a style that is universally appealing to small children.

We met our granddaughter after school for her first over-night stay in Honu with us. For our venue, we decided on a familiar RV park, Campland on the Bay in Mission Bay. We ate our "picnic dinner" of ravioli, raspberry bagel, fresh blueberries and raspberries. She also enjoyed peach yogurt and chocolate stick for dessert. J.J. and I are happy and feel blessed as we observed our granddaughter laughing and having fun watching Shaun the Sheep on our laptop. Outside temperature is dropping and our bay front site is now shrouded in darkness. However, interior of Honu is well-lit and the 3 of us are warm and content enjoying each other's company.

Aloha -- Cathi
