Aloha Everyone
We left my Mother's house and returned to La Jolla. The San Diego South bound freeway was congested with Friday traffic. J.J. and I stopped for a late lunch at a TGIF restaurant in Carlsbad.
Jennifer, who waited on us, mentioned that she went to Hawaii to attend a friend's wedding but it rained all the time she was there. Although mostly sunny and pleasant. Hawaii does have rainy weather. When it happens on auspicious occasions such as birthdays, graduations and weddings, we call it "Hawaiian blessings".
After getting accustomed to my Mother's healthy home cook meals, my choice of clam chowder soup and pastrami with Swiss cheese sandwich was too heavy and I finished only a half of my meal.
Winter wonderland festivities were at full swing at our granddaughter's school when we arrived. Children enjoyed riding rubber tube to slide down the make-shift snowy hill.
Kettle corns are always a big hit for children which sold as quickly as they were packaged.
