Aloha Everyone,
While our friends and family in Hawaii were watching out for Hurricane Iselle and Hurricane Julio to bypass the island chain, J.J. and I decided to come down the mountains, literally, so we can have wifi access to stay in touch.
Compared to Las Vegas or Reno, Carson City is a quiet, rural city in the northern part of Nevada with beautiful view of the Sierra Nevada. We chose to stay at the Gold Dust RV Park which is located adjacent to the Gold Dust Hotel and Casino. J.J. and I do not gamble. Actually, it is difficult for us to comprehend the enjoyment some people get from occasional gambling. For us, this RV park was chosen because of the facility and the convenient location. There were only 50 RV stalls with lots of shady trees and superbly clean facility It was ideal for us to relax and do our work. We did four loads of laundry, caught up with some of our correspondences and spoke to our family and friends.
We also went to watch "The Hundred Foot Journey", comedy/drama starring Helen Mirren. We truly enjoyed the film. Our large movie theater was nearly empty. However, the lobby was filled with children, parents and young adults dressed in martial arts gear. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles which opened on the same weekend nationwide grossed $65 million over 3 days. It amazes me to see what genre of films appeal to movie goers.
Aloha -- Cathi
