Back to South Bay

Aloha Everyone,

Woke to a foggy morning at a chilling 52 degrees F. Compared to the previous night, Honu was surrounded by other RVs and people camping in tents.

Route 101 traverses through some mountainous regions, but mostly runs parallel to the Pacific Ocean.

We recall passing through Santa Barbara city center in our previous trips, but now it just by passed the city devastating many of the roadside business.

Railroad tracks also run parallel to Route 101.

To prevent water from evaporating, plastic sheets are used in large farms.

Your tension and stress level can elevate when you are driving on one of the numerous Southern California freeways. I am truly grateful for J.J.' s calm demeanor and his expertise in driving.

We stopped by at Mitsuwa Supermarket and had our lunch at Miyabi-Tei.

We both enjoyed a Japanese Bento which was artfully presented and was delicious.

Tonight, we are back at my Mother's home. J.J. and I get to feast on her home-cooked dinner and enjoy the early crop from her vine.

Aloha -- Cathi
