To Moab, Utah on I-70

Aloha Everyone,

This morning we woke up to a awe-inspiring sunrise. After my yoga and meditation practice followed by 30 minutes of juggling, we spent time catching up with our correspondence. It was already 10:30 am when we left the RV park in Nephi.

Guided by our GPS, we traveled on 89 to I-70. The weather was sunny, no threat of rain and we were on well paved roads.

From Exit 86, I took over the driving. That's when things got exciting as we entered the region of the San Rafael Swell in Emery County. Using cruise control did not really work as the road went uphill and downhill with many curves. I had to pass trucks that were flashing "slow" warning lights. It was an exciting but very tense drive for me and for J.J.

The San Rafael Swell is 2,000 sq. miles of public land with a large geologic feature in South-Central Utah.  I-70 divides it in half as a Northern and Southern section. The area is impressive. The name swell is suitable as giant dome of rocks were formed by tremendous geologic upheavals before there were any inhabitants. The result is amazing and beautiful multiple colored sandstone forming buttes, mesas, canyons, valleys, gorges and pinnacles.

There were Native Americans selling their hand- crafted jewelries. What I found amusing was a sign which said "all major credit cards accepted".

Happy with fresh fruits that I purchased in Moab:

After purchasing array of fresh fruits and produce at the City Market, we checked into the Spanish Trail RV Park. This place has one of the cleanest, modern facilities. We were so happy that we decided to do our laundry only to experience a sudden hail storm which kept J.J. in the laundry room and me in the safety of Honu. Fortunately, they were sizes of small peas and did not cause any damage to people or vehicles

The final adventure of the day was a spectacular lightening shows in the sky which a couple from Australia called "an evening entertainment".
