Kanarraville Utah

Aloha Everyone,

Two months ago, J.J. and I have never heard of Kanarraville. Now, it has become one of our "special places" in the Continental USA. Just a quick background on this town. It is in Iron County, Utah and the town's name comes from Paiute Chief named Canarrah. According to the 2012 data, the town's population is 356. The town is located at the elevation of 5,541 ft with the total area of 0.45 sq. miles.

After you get off I-15, you take this lonely country road for approximately 4.5 miles to reach the town's Main Street.

Actually this is where I first sat behind the steering wheel of Honu.

According to Zillow's, 20 acres of Kanarra Mountain vacant land is for sale with the asking price of $74,900 Fee Simple. Our inquiry is simply academic as we have no personal interest.

Gail owns the Red Ledge RV Park in Kanarravilke. J.J. and I were at her RV Park exactly 2 months ago when a freak winter storm dumped several inches of snow on Mother's Day.

Gail is a thoughtful, kind, considerate individual who loaned us her shovel so J.J. could dig Honu out of the snow.

You can tell that Gail truly enjoys her work as she is always smiling. When I asked her what she likes best about her work, she shared with me the following:

1.  The chance to meet people from all over the world
2.  That her RV park is like a town within a town and
3.  "I'm the self- appointed mayor of my own town!"

Self appointed mayor Gail welcomed us back with a big hug! It's always a good idea to be friends with the mayor.

Aloha -- Cathi
